Legal Status and Independent Governance
GOSUMEC Foundation USA is an independent, alumni-led organization recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are deductible for federal income tax purposes in accordance with applicable law.
The Foundation is legally separate from Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital and is governed by its own Board of Directors. It retains fiduciary control over all charitable funds and remains accountable to U.S. nonprofit law, donor intent, and its governing Board. The College and Hospital do not participate in GOSUMEC’s fundraising, scholarship selection, or fund administration.
