GOSUMEC Foundation USA offers Need & Merit-Based Scholarships through two key programs:
The flagship Bridges to MBBS & More – Pay it forward Scholarship with administrative support from FFE.
The Collaborative Scholarship initiative, in partnership with our alma mater through DJST, which extends support to paraclinical professional students.
Our goal is to build a thriving nonprofit driven by exceptional leadership, empowering us to support more students with greater impact, efficiency, and sustainability for the long term.
GOSUMEC Foundation USA is uniquely positioned to create a lasting cycle of support that will sustain the Bridges to MBBS & More initiative indefinitely.
The initiative offers MBBS students a $5,000 scholarship, distributed over five annual installments of $1,000. Eligibility is based on a family income of less than ₹8,00,000 and a NEET rank of under 40,000.
Through individual scholarship contributions, the creation of a student corpus, and the Pay It Forward commitment from beneficiaries, this ongoing cycle of giving will uplift not only students but also their families and communities, ensuring a brighter future for all.
Our flagship program, Angels for Students, is a monthly giving initiative that empowers you to support student scholars and sustain their success.
For just a little over $3 a day—less than the cost of a Starbucks coffee—you can sponsor an MBBS student for a year.
With a contribution of $16 a day, less than the price of a lunch entrée, your generosity can cover the full academic support for an MBBS student throughout their course.
Monthly giving offers you, our dedicated philanthropists, the joy of ongoing fulfillment as you empower MBBS students and help shape their futures.
By fostering a movement of charitable living and shared impact, you are transforming lives of students, their families & the wider community.
Named Scholarship
For MBBS students, a $100,000 corpus—through multi-year or one-time contributions—provides $1,000 annually over five years, ensuring a total of $5,000 in course support for one student each year, sustained indefinitely.
For Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT) students, a $60,000 corpus will offer $3,000 in course support for one student each year, with $750 distributed annually over four years.
Similarly, for Medical Technician students, a $45,000 corpus will ensure $2,250 in total course support for one student each year, disbursed as $750 annually over three years.
These funds will provide perpetual support to students, creating a lasting impact.
At GOSUMEC Foundation USA, we are committed to building a sustainable framework that supports medical and paramedical students for generations to come.
You also have the unique opportunity to establish a Named Perpetual Scholarship in honor of yourself, your family, or loved ones, ensuring your legacy continues by sponsoring a student indefinitely.
Whether it’s becoming a monthly philanthropist, making a one-time donation with the option for annual support. or committing $20,000 per year for five years to reach a total of $100,000—ensuring the education of one MBBS student, every year-forever, you are offered various ways to make a meaningful impact.
Our Financial Committee, comprising five members—including three GOSUMECs who serve independently of the governing board—is committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and financial stewardship.
The current members are Kishore Harjai, Vinod Patel, Tushar Vora, Treasurer Anil Sheth, and Founder & Board Chair Sanjay Bindra.
Together, they ensure our financial practices are aligned with the Investment Policy Statement, adhering to best principles that safeguard the long-term impact and sustainability of our mission.
Our Investment Policy Statement-IPS provides a clear framework for managing the corpus investments.
The funds are allocated in a 70/30 ratio between index funds and cash equivalents, ensuring a balance between liquidity and stable growth to outpace inflation.
This structure supports an annual 5% draw, which will be adjusted down to 4% after 2032, aligning with long-term sustainability goals.
Our commitment to our benefactors is rooted in the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, transparency, and accountability.
We strive to demonstrate the impact of their hard-earned contributions, fostering trust and nurturing relationships across all alumni groups and stages.
With deep gratitude for their support, we are dedicated to being responsible stewards of their contributions, while continually strengthening our community to ensure lasting benefits for the students of our alma mater.
Through our efforts, we aim to unite the GOSUMEC community by fostering meaningful connections and engagement.
Our financial support includes individual scholarships for students, while also establishing a sustainable corpus to ensure long-term impact for future generations.
To balance stability with growth, 30% of the corpus is held in cash equivalents, such as U.S. Treasuries, and 70% is invested in an Index ETF, ensuring growth potential and safeguarding against inflation.
We’re on track to reach $1 million by 2026, with a long-term goal of building a sustainable $3 million corpus by 2032.

Bridges To MBBS & More
The Bridges to MBBS & More-Pay It Forward Scholarship strives to build a sustainable corpus for student scholarships that will endure for generations.
We aim to nurture compassionate professionals ready to enter the workforce.
Our support extends beyond financial aid, encompassing essential mentorship, guidance throughout the students’ journeys, and rewards for pro-social behavior.
Through our Pay It Forward promise—a non-binding agreement—scholars commit to supporting future students, both financially and with mentorship, when they are able.
This cycle of giving benefits not only the scholars themselves but also their families and communities.
In our inaugural year, 2023, we proudly supported 17 students, including 4 deserving female students—setting a historic milestone as the highest level of support in our alma mater’s nearly 100-years history.
This is a milestone for all of us, GOSUMECs, to take pride in!
The Bridges to MBBS & More – Pay It Forward Scholarship leverages the established efficiency and scale of the Foundation for Excellence-FFE network.
Through a digital process accessible via our website, candidates are identified, verified & selected, based on need and merit.
Funds are then disbursed directly into the scholars’ bank accounts, ensuring a seamless process that prioritizes transparency, accountability, and efficiency.
This approach eliminates inefficiencies in fund distribution, maximizing the impact of our scholarship program.
Collaborative Scholarship
Scholars with Dean Dr. Sangeeta Ravat, Dr. Shenvi & Drs. Anil & Rucha Sheth
Through the Collaborative Scholarship Initiative, GOSUMEC Foundation USA pledges to match funds raised in India to support paraclnical students selected by the Committee-from both India and the US, ensuring continued support for these future healthcare professionals.
This need- and merit-based scholarship aims to empower students in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Medical Technicians, ensuring they receive the support necessary to thrive in their fields.
For paraclinical professionals, the initiative offers Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy students a $3,000 scholarship for their four-year course, distributed in annual installments of $750.
Similarly, Medical Technical students will receive $750 annually for the duration of their studies.
By uniting our global community, GOSUMEC Foundation USA is committed to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals through sustained financial assistance.
Through collaboration with colleagues in India and a partnership with a corporate sponsor, we made history by extending support to paraclinical professional students for the first time in our alma mater’s nearly 100-year legacy.
This is a milestone for all of us, GOSUMECs, to take pride in!
Paraclinical students, identified through the application process, are selected by a committee consisting of members from both India and the United States.
This Collaborative Committe will ensure a transparent selection process and develop efficiencies in fund disbursement.
At GOSUMEC Foundation USA, our mission is to support student scholarships & welfare by fostering a thriving community of GOSUMECs at every stage of life.

Each group has the opportunity to connect and engage with one another, fostering a network that benefits both themselves and the broader community.
Through the contribution of their time, financial resources, and mentorship, members provide vital support that extends beyond financial aid, enriching the lives of students and strengthening the entire GOSUMEC family.
Together, we help shape leaders in both clinical and paraclinical fields, empowering clinicians, professionals, and leaders in healthcare and related careers—something we can all take pride in.
At GOSUMEC Foundation USA, our core mission is Student Welfare.

Gratitude Exchange
GOSUMEC Foundation is honored to unite our community across the US and India.
Relish these heartfelt moments of gratitude and contentment as we bring together our benefactors and beneficiaries.
During this celebration in the Physiology Lab, Drs. Anil & Rucha Sheth were deeply moved by the joy shared with the Scholars, Dr. Shenvi, and her colleagues.
Sanjay & Archana Bindra have built an exceptional platform with GOSUMEC Foundation USA, enabling our community to connect, engage, and contribute meaningfully.
They have harnessed technology to create a well-structured and organized network, far surpassing the informal efforts of our group from the early 2000s.
The Foundation’s website provides clear and transparent details about scholarships, finances, and the application process. Ranked in the top 1% for transparency, the Foundation operates with nearly zero overhead costs, thanks to Sanjay, Archana, and the Board covering these expenses personally.
Donors have flexible options to contribute, including monthly giving, annual or one-time gifts, and the prestigious Legacy Perpetual Scholarship, allowing everyone to play a part in shaping the future by supporting brilliant and financially challenged students—our next generation of leaders.
Sanjay & Archana Bindra from the 1991 Class, along with a number of GOSUMECs on the executive team have galvanized a large number of GOSUMECs in the US and few other countries to raise and donate thousands of dollars to the most needed causes at GSMC & KEMH.
They have done truly pioneering work that is unprecedented at our alma mater for its scope and comprehensiveness and it is completely selfless.
This kind of organization of alumni in the US hadn’t happened until now despite more than 6 decades of GOSUMECs migrating to the US and doing really well.
Giving back to our Alma mater despite being far away is much easier and totally transparent down to the last dollar one gives. And the joy of reconnecting in gratitude across the years and the networking is just invaluable!
