About the Program
Bridges to MBBS & More: Pay It Forward Scholarships by GOSUMEC Foundation USA
These scholarships are designed to provide financial support to talented and economically disadvantaged students, helping them pursue a career in Medicine.
We have partnered with the Foundation for Excellence (FFE) to administer our scholarships, leveraging their extensive operational scale and efficiency.
This partnership ensures a rigorous verification process for the financial criteria we have established, enhancing the impact and reach of our program.
As part of this initiative, first-year MBBS students from GSMC & KEMH will receive $1,000 annually for up to 5 years to help cover academic expenses throughout their MBBS program.

Bridges to MBBS & More: Pay It Forward Scholarships, 2024-2025
Application Deadline – 31st December 2024
- First-year MBBS students enrolled at GSMC & KEMH are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have secured a minimum of 65% in their Class 12 board examinations.
- The annual family income of applicants must be below INR 8,00,000 from all sources.
- Open to Indian nationals only.
Primary Documents (To be uploaded by the student once the application is marked as eligible):
1. XII Marksheet
2. Entrance Rank Certificate
3. Seat Allotment Counselling Letter
4. Family Income Certificate, Salary Slip (for the last 3 months), or IT Return
5. E-Aadhaar or a scanned copy of the original Aadhaar
6. Paid Receipts for Tuition, Hostel, or Mess Fees
Secondary Documents (To be uploaded during the application process):
7. Bank Passbook copy for account details verification
8. Bonafide Certificate issued by the college
9. Course Fee Structure issued by the college
10. Parent’s or Guardian’s Declaration
Scholarship Details:
Each selected MBBS student will receive $1,000 annually, totaling $5,000 over the course of 5 years.
Note: The scholarship funds are strictly to be used for academic expenses, including tuition, exam fees, books, hostel fees, food, and seminars.
Any remaining funds may be allocated toward stationery, online learning resources, and internet/data pack expenses.
Applicants will be notified of the selection results by January 31st, 2025.
Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students following a thorough verification and selection process, which is based on both merit and financial need.
Please note that not all applicants will be selected as scholarship recipients.
The GOSUMEC Foundation USA Scholarships are administered in collaboration with the Foundation for Excellence (FFE).
Payments are disbursed in a single installment, by direct deposit to the student’s bank account, no later than February 28th.
The application process includes document verification.
Selected candidates will receive scholarships and will be encouraged to give back in the future by supporting future scholars with mentorship and financial aid.

Who is eligible for GOSUMEC Foundation USA, Bridges to MBBS & More: Pay It Forward Scholarship?
The Bridges to MBBS & More: Pay It Forward Scholarship, in partnership with FFE, is available to first-year MBBS students at GSMC & KEMH.
Eligible applicants must have taken the NEET exam in 2024 and be currently enrolled in their first year of study.
What is the selection process for this scholarship program?
The selection process for the GOSUMEC Foundation USA, Bridges to MBBS & More: Pay It Forward Scholarship 2024-2025 follows a multi-stage approach, evaluating candidates based on academic merit and financial need. The steps involved are as follows:
- Initial shortlisting of candidates based on academic performance and financial background.
- Verification of submitted documents.
- Telephonic interviews with shortlisted candidates after document verification.
- Final selection of scholarship recipients.
How will I receive the scholarship fund?
The scholarship amount will be disbursed annually, directly into the scholars’ bank accounts.
What kind of receipts should I submit for receiving this scholarship?
The GOSUMEC Foundation USA, Bridges to MBBS & More: Pay It Forward Scholarship will be disbursed at the end of the academic term on a reimbursement basis.
Students are required to retain original receipts for tuition fees, hostel and mess fees, book purchases, internet recharges, and any other educational expenses.
All receipts must be consolidated into a single document and uploaded with the scholarship application.
Am I eligible to apply for the scholarship if I am currently in the second year of the MBBS program?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to apply for this scholarship this year.
It is currently available only to students who are in their first year of the MBBS program.
